Meadow Impressions - Mixed Media Cyanotype Print

This original artwork brings together several different techniques - cyanotype, Joomchi and Monoprinting.

The first stage to creating this beautiful print is the cyanotype process, using botanicals on Japanese mulberry paper.  This delicate paper is then collaged and strengthened using the Korean paper felting technique Joomchi which created a wonderful textured surface.  Once dry I have monoprinted delicate cow parsley flowers which leaves a distinctive botanical impression leaving a striking contrast against the cyanotype blue.

Each piece is handmade and unique.  The natural fibres of the mulberry paper, Joomchi process and the hand printing of the cow parsley has created subtle variations in texture and tones.
